| We
have had dogs in my home since 1966, when our first Pug was introduced.
But the dog interest has been in the family earlier than that. My grandmother,
Emelie Lindqvist, bred Shetland Sheepdogs in the 30ties and 40ties. She
started with dogs from relatives, Captain and Mrs Hauffman, Shephards.They
also bred Irish Wolfhound. During the 70ties my sister and mother bred Pugs and 1972 my other sister brought in the first liver Flacoat bitch to Sweden, and later also had the first liver flatcoat litter (Cinnamon). At the Stockholm dogshow 1971 I saw my very first Irish Water Spaniel. It was finnish owned by the name of Fin Ch Culan Bran, I fell for him right away. At that moment I knew what breed I wanted to have. Went to England in 1973 to work in a quaranteen kennel. Had the possiblility to go to my first dog show abroad and met quite a few Irish Water Spaniels there. Also got in contact with breeders. Talked to Mr George Rikards who at the time had Sh Ch Jakes of Tarbay. Christmas the same year my first Irish Water Spaniel arrived in Sweden, Buquy Naughty Nenagh. She was a daughter of Jakes of Tarbay. Naughty Nenagh was followed by Zanfi Jay and Zanfi Suellen. In 1982 I had my first litter under the prefix Aquatikus. Moved to Brazil 1982 and stayed there untill 1986. Started over again in 1988 after being in both England and USA to see more of the Irish Water Spaniel. In 1988 my foundation bitch, of what I have today, was born, Norw Ch Delaware Snowstorm. She was bred together with Keith and Chris Attwood (Doonbeg) in England after her dame had been over in Sweden to be inseminated with the big winning american dog , USA Ch Mallyree Triple Expectation. Her litter brother Sh Ch Hudson Chill stayed in England with Keith and Chris. A few more litters has been bred since and I hope to be able to breed nice and sound Irish Water Spaniels. My goal is to breed sound dogs with good temperaments, looks and working ability. |
